About Dr. Andy

Chapter 1: Early Life

Born and raised in the western suburbs of Philadelphia, PA, I grew up a passionate fan of the Phillies, 76ers, and Eagles. Summers were often spent visiting my aunt and uncle in Chesapeake, Virginia, where I developed a deep love for the beach—often returning sunburned from full days of body surfing at Virginia Beach. In 1989, I graduated from Penn State with a degree in Business Management and received a commission into the U.S. Army’s Aviation Branch.

Chapter 2: Military Service

I served 11 years as a Blackhawk pilot, taking on various leadership roles in locations such as Desert Storm, Korea, Bosnia, and beyond. It was my honor to serve alongside incredible soldiers in elite units including the 101st Airborne (Air Assault) Division, 2nd Infantry Division, and the 82nd Airborne Division.

Chapter 3: A Spiritual Calling

After attending a spiritual retreat in Conyers, GA, I experienced what I call a “burning bush” moment. I felt a strong calling to become a Chiropractor. With faith, many prayers, and courage, I made the life-changing decision to follow this path—leaving the military physically, but always remaining a servant at heart.

“Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not Lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.”

Chapter 4: Chiropractic Journey

I graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic in 2004 and began my journey by learning from many talented Chiropractors as an Associate Doctor. In 2018, I felt another calling—this time, to return to Virginia to be near family, including my mother in Chesapeake and my brother in Gloucester.

Chapter 5: Fatherhood

I am a proud Foster Adoptive Dad to three amazing kids: Jessie (almost 21), AJ (17), and Nick (13). They are my heart and inspiration every day.

Chapter 6: Love Rekindled

In 2020, I reconnected with the love of my life, Brandy. We originally dated briefly in 1991 after meeting at the Officer’s Club at Ft. Campbell, KY. It only took me 29 years to realize she was “the one.” Today, we are blessed to call Hampton Roads our home.

Stories to Tell

These are stories of people I’ve directly treated or was closely involved in their care. Real lives. Real impact.

15-Year-Old Girl with Cerebral Palsy

  • In 2004, just three months before graduation, I witnessed this case firsthand.
  • A colleague met a family from London, England at Disney World. The mother was there on a Make-A-Wish trip for her daughter—who had tried nearly everything, except chiropractic.
  • He invited the family to stay at his home near St. Louis, MO for a month. The child was wheelchair-bound, with a stiff, unusable right arm and constant tremors. She needed four family members to help her use the bathroom.
  • After just one week and 3 adjustments, the mother was found weeping with joy—her daughter had eaten ice cream using the arm that had once been frozen in place.
  • After one month and 12 adjustments, the girl stood and walked. WALKED. I saw that. I cannot unsee that. Ever since, when someone asks if chiropractic can help with a condition—I remember her. And I offer them another authentic possibility for their health.

Misty: Two Very Different Labors

  • Misty experienced a 42-hour labor with her first child—ending in a C-section. She sought chiropractic care during her second pregnancy at 36 weeks.
  • After receiving the Webster Technique:
    • Week 1: Baby turned head-down.
    • Week 2: No longer needed IV for contractions—they stopped.
    • Week 4: Misty arrived with a big smile. “I’m 4 cm,” she said. That took 24 hours last time!
    • Week 5: She went into labor. I adjusted her in the hospital. Her water broke naturally. Gabrielle was born after just 5 hours of labor.
    • I was honored to adjust Gabrielle while she rested in her mother’s arms—just minutes into her life.

Baby Nissan

  • As I was about to enter the adjustment room, a patient yelled, “It’s all your fault!!”
  • She laughed and explained: “You said it would go quicker. We had the baby in the back of the car!”
  • And so, the nickname “Baby Nissan” was born. (Apologies for the mess! 😊)

Jane: The 102-Year-Old School Teacher

  • Jane came in like clockwork every two weeks for over 30 years. I was her 4th chiropractor.
  • Sweet and spunky—she once threatened to wrap me with her cane if I got out of line!
  • It was an honor to escort her to the adjustment room and share a few stories. She was a vibrant soul, and I was blessed to be part of her life journey.

Jeffrey: 4-Year-Old with a Bad Ear Infection

This story is one I’ll never forget. More to come…
